Birthdays in SharePoint

How does the birthday WebPart work?

How many employees does your company have? Manually keeping track of birthdays, for example in Excel, is a time-consuming task. This WebPart is built with the SharePoint Framework (SPFx). The SharePoint Framework (SPFx) is a page and web part model that fully supports client-side SharePoint development, easy integration with SharePoint data, and extends Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Viva. This way, your colleagues’ birthdays are easily added, and this WebPart can be used on SharePoint. Would you like to import an Excel list of birthdays all at once into the WebPart? All your colleague needs to do is fill in their birthday in their Delve Profile. An added benefit is that colleagues can choose whether they want to appear in the birthday calendar. Once this is done, the birthday list will be updated.

Teams option

Email is possible, but how about a Teams button? When you click the Teams button, it will take you directly to the chat of the person whose birthday it is!

You can now set the cards in any HEX or RGB color.

Show birthdays from the past weekend

It is now also possible to display birthdays from the past weekend. Sometimes, someone may have a birthday over the weekend, and you might miss it. With this new feature, you’ll be able to see those birthdays as well.

Automatic synchronization

The birthday list is updated every time someone visits the page with the birthday calendar. When the web part is loading, it retrieves all users who have entered their birthday and displays them. This includes birthdays recently added in Delve.

Show default email subject

When you click the email button, a subject is automatically populated, which can be customized through the web part settings. It’s also possible to disable this option if preferred.
